Turmeric is a super spice with a deep pretty orange color. A few of its nicknames include ‘The Golden Spice’, ‘The Golden Goddess’ and ‘The Spice of Life’. This little root (it grows under the ground and is relatively small) has been used as a medicine for more than 4,000 years and it is an essential spice in Indian and other Asian cultures. It’s the prime ingredient and spice in curries. Today, we can find it pretty much anywhere and in many forms of consumption.
