Sunchef's Chocolate Fingers Recipe
Don’t you just love chocolate? Us too! We also like to mind our health while snacking which is why this super quick and easy-to-make Chocolate Fingers recipe - with a special twist - is perfect. What’s the special twist? It has collagen powder in it. Why collagen, you ask? Scroll down and we’ll tell you.
What is collagen and why should I add it to my dessert?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body. It is the major component of connective tissues, such as skin and cartilages.
Collagen powder has several benefits:
- Collagen rejuvenates the skin.
- Collagen reduces hair loss and strengthens nails.
- Collagen relieves joint pain.
- Collagen is rich in good fat.
- Collagen promotes heart health.
- Collagen could prevent bone loss.
- Collagen could boost muscle mass.
And many more.
After 8 weeks of adding collagen to your daily routine, you will see and feel the difference. Getting more protein into your day is easy when you add a scoop of collagen to your coffee, tea, baking, or smoothies. You can find collagen supplements in the form of pills, cream, or powder. Collagen powder is preferred over pills because powder is absorbed into your system much quicker than any other form of supplements since you ingest it with your food or drink.
The powder is mainly made from animal tissue, so vegans should steer clear of collagen.
And now, let’s make some chocolate collagen fingers!
You can find all the ingredients needed on Mint Basil Market.
You will need:
1/2 cup of Coconut Oil, melted
1/2 cup of Sunchef’s Almond Butter
1/4 cup of Cacao Powder
1 Tbsp Collagen
Himalayan Salt to sprinkle
The beauty of this recipe is that it only requires 1 bowl! In addition to the ingredients above, you will need a whisk or a fork to mix and an ice tray.
In a bowl, add the coconut oil, almond butter, cacao powder, and collagen. Mix well.
Transfer the mixture to your ice tray and sprinkle sea salt on top.
Freeze for a couple of hours, and done! It doesn’t get easier than that.
