Welcome to Mint Basil Market, Your Online Health & Wellness Commuity

Self-love is a popular concept these days, and it looks a little different for everyone. It also does not stop at drawing a bubble bath for yourself or booking a spa appointment. Self-love is not something that will happen for you overnight, especially if you are coming from a place of self-hate, harsh criticism, perfectionism, etc. Working into your routine small, achievable steps will increase your self-kindness and self-love. Here are Holistic Health Coach and Mint Basil Market Health Expert Sarah Boutros’s top tips for self-love.

1. Create space to feel your emotions

Ask yourself “What do I need today?” every single day and make sure that you work towards meeting those needs.

2. Keep small promises

Keep a small promise to yourself that you know is going to help you in life whether that’s reading a few pages from a book every morning or spending 10 minutes outside in the sun to get some fresh air and improve your mental health.

3. Be kind to yourself

Treat yourself with the same kindness and grace you extend to friends, families, and loved ones in your life. We are often much kinder to our loved ones than we are to ourselves. As the saying goes, we are often our own worst critics. Practicing self-love means creating an environment for yourself in which you can make mistakes, grow and flourish.

4. Create time to have fun

A lot of people have the tendency to stretch themselves really thin between work, daily life, and social obligations. But it’s important that these social events don’t interfere with your much-needed me-time. Participating in a hobby you're good at and that brings your joy will not only boost your endorphins but will bring out the best version of you. If you love to cook, then cook! If you love to run, then grab those sneakers, head outside, and run.
